Prayer Plant

Maranta Leuconeura

Description

Prayer Plant, a native of Brazil, is a small tropical plant with broad oval leaves, up to 8 inches long by half as wide. The leaves fold upwards at night, hence the common name. Small white flowers have purple spots.

Sun Needs

Medium light, from North or east window.

Water Needs

Soil must be moist at all times. Plant likes a humid environment.

Repotting Instructions

This plant needs to be repotted at least once a year to keep the soil light. Do not pack the soil when repotting. Prayer plant can live many years.
