Snake
Cylindrica/African Spear
"Sansevieria/Dracaena angolensis"

Description

Round, smooth, spear-like cylindrical leaves that arch out in a fan — sometimes sold braided. Architectural and tough, with the same bulletproof nature as upright snake plants.

Sun Needs

Low to bright, indirect light; handles some direct sun. Extremely adaptable; brighter light gives firmer, faster growth.

Water Needs

Water only when fully dry, every 2-3 weeks, less in winter. Cylindrical leaves store water well — overwatering is the one thing to avoid.

Repotting Instructions

Repot every 2-3 years in a snug pot with gritty, well-draining mix. Divide rhizomes or separate offsets to propagate. If braided, the braid sets as it grows — guide it young.
