Alocasia - Polly "African Mask"
Description
"Polly" has glossy, deeply lobed dark green leaves with bright white veins. Bold, exotic statement plant.
Sun Needs
Bright, indirect light. No direct sun (it burns the leaves). Good light keeps the veining vivid.
Water Needs
Keep lightly moist; water when the top inch is dry. Dislikes both soggy soil and full dryness. Loves high humidity — dry air causes crispy edges. Often goes dormant in winter (don't panic if it drops leaves; reduce water and it returns).
Repotting Instructions
Repot every 1-2 years in spring. Use a chunky, well-draining aroid mix. Prefers a snug pot; divide offsets/rhizomes to propagate.
