Button Fern
"Pellaea rotundifolia"
Description
A charming, compact fern with arching fronds lined with small, round, button-like leaflets. More drought-tolerant and forgiving than most ferns, making it a great desk or shelf plant.
Sun Needs
Medium to bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sun. Tolerates lower light better than many ferns.
Water Needs
Keep lightly and evenly moist; water when the top half-inch of soil is dry. Unlike most ferns it dislikes being soggy, so let the surface dry slightly between waterings. Appreciates moderate humidity.
Repotting Instructions
Repot every 1-2 years in spring when roots fill the pot. Use a well-draining, peat-based potting mix. Divide clumps to propagate.
