Money Tree
"Pachira aquatica"
Description
A popular good-luck plant with a braided trunk and bright, hand-shaped clusters of five glossy leaflets. Easy-going, pet-friendly, and long-lived. A great gift plant and beginner-friendly choice.
Sun Needs
Bright, indirect light. Tolerates medium light. Rotate regularly for even growth and avoid direct midday sun.
Water Needs
Water when the top 2 inches of soil are dry, about every 1-2 weeks. Likes to dry out somewhat between waterings; do not let it sit in water. Yellow leaves usually mean overwatering.
Repotting Instructions
Repot every 2-3 years in spring. Use well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes. It actually prefers being slightly snug, so don't oversize the pot.
