Sago Palm resembles a palm tree but is actually a cycad. This symmetrical plant supports a crown of shiny dark green leaves on a thick shaggy trunk that can grow to 10-12 ft. The plant is very slow growing, requiring about 50 years to achieve this height. Within the leaves in mature individuals, reproductive structures form at the center of the rosette.
