Pink Princess ✦ variegated
Description
The famous "PPP" — deep near-black green leaves splashed with bubblegum-pink
variegation. A collector's showstopper and a premium-priced statement plant. No two leaves
are alike. Toxic if eaten.
Sun Needs
Bright, indirect light — essential. Pink tissue has no chlorophyll, so it needs strong indirect light to keep producing pink; too little and it reverts to all green. A few hours of gentle morning sun helps, but avoid harsh midday sun that burns the pink.
Water Needs
Water when the top inch or two is dry, roughly weekly. Let it dry slightly between waterings; dislikes soggy soil. Appreciates higher humidity.
Repotting Instructions
Repot every 1-2 years in spring in a chunky, well-draining aroid mix (soil + bark + perlite). Give it a moss pole to climb for bigger leaves. To propagate, cut below a node that has both pink AND green — all-pink cuttings can't survive, all-green lose the magic. Prune above a half-pink node to encourage more pink growth.
