Aspidistra
“Cast Iron Plant”
Description
It has wide, evergreen leaves that Rise Up from tough, rhizomatous roots. The land-shaped leaves are dark green and leathery. decidedly vertical. Some types of Aspidistra are variegated with creamy streaks or dots. The flowers are borne close to the ground and never even seen unless one deliberately searches for them.
Sun Needs
The plant likes low light from a North window or artificial light.
Water Needs
Allow soil to become nearly dry between watering. Do not over water in the winter.
Repotting Instructions
It is good to repot every two or three years. This plant can live many years.
